About
Founded in 1983 by Akio Ando, Maruyasu on Immermannstraße is one of the oldest continuously operating Japanese restaurants in Germany. Ando, who moved to Germany over 50 years ago, built his sushi empire with family directors registered through Maruyasu Import-Export GmbH. The spacious, light-filled counter format allows guests to watch nigiri and maki being assembled and to order tempura from a dedicated station. Unusually, Maruyasu stays open through the afternoon — a rarity in Düsseldorf's Japanese dining scene — making it ideal for a late lunch. The affordable pricing and daily freshness have kept it a local institution for four decades.
