About
Morihiro Onodera was born in Iwate Prefecture and trained in Tokyo before moving to Los Angeles in 1985. He built his reputation at the original Mori Sushi in West LA, which earned a Michelin star in 2008 and 2009. His current restaurant relocated to Echo Park in late 2025 and holds one Michelin star (2021, 2022, 2025); the omakase seats just four guests and is priced at approximately $400 per person.
